  1.     Multi-Level  Marketing,  (MLM)  is a term you hear quite
  2. often.  Multi-Level Marketing is a concept in which everyone
  3. who  buys  a  product  is  given  an opportunity to sell the
  4. product.  Each person who has sold products  to  people  who
  5. then become sellers themselves, makes a bit of money on each
  6. new sale.  It is an interesting concept.  At first, it would
  7. seem  that the end product must be expensive, since there is
  8. a whole chain of people, each taking  a  small  cut  of  the
  9. profit.   On  the other hand, the manufacturer does not have
  10. to invest in as much advertising.
  11.     MLM seems to have been quite popular in the 1980's and a
  12. few   brand   names  came  to  all  our  attention  such  as
  13. Tupperware, Avon, Amway and Amsoil.  What about now? Is  MLM
  14. dead?  No - It's still very much alive.
  15.      In it's newest incarnation, called  Network  Marketing,
  16. this newly emerging, $15 billion dollar industry is  one  of
  17. the fastest climbing idustries in the world today. It is the
  18. ultimate  free  enterprise  system.  It was designed for the
  19. individual  with  equal  opportunity  for  all  individuals.
  20. Unlike  the old MLM - there are no middle-men to eat up your
  21. profit. Also, you do not have  to  have  a  garage  full  of
  22. product.   In  fact, you don't keep ANY stock on hand - much
  23. more convenient and economical.
  24.     You  can  start  with  little  or nothing.  Some network
  25. companies start you with a $25.00  distributor's  kit  which
  26. gives   you  everything  you  need  to  launch a  successful
  27. be-your-own-boss business.  Many  Network  Marketers  become
  28. distributors simply for the privilege of buying products for
  29. their  own  use  at  a  sizable  savings - usually around 30
  30. percent.  By becoming a distributor, the  customer  has  the
  31. opportunity  to  become  a  seller  as  well  as a wholesale
  32. consumer.  The distributor buys the product from the company
  33. at  a  wholesale  discount  and  in turn, sells it at retail
  34. cost.  The difference being  your  profit.   Because  it  is
  35. based  on  sharing - not selling, it's a low-stress, fun way
  36. to generate some extra income.  It may also become a way  to
  37. leave the job you no longer like.
  38.     Many  of  today's  successful Network Marketing products
  39. seem to be green products, ones  which  are  environmentally
  40. reasonable  or health related.  This is important to today's
  41. conscientious consumers.  They are asking a lot of questions
  42. about products.  They want their products to be healthy  for
  43. themselves  and to be backed by companies with integrity and
  44. environmentally sound ideas.   Network  Marketing  companies
  45. tend  to  offer  this and more. "Breakthrough" products that
  46. can't be found anywhere else, such as in stores  or  through
  47. catalogs,   can   be  purchased  through  Network  Marketing
  48. channels.  One  product  that  fits  this  category  is   an
  49. all-natural food which actually seems to help you think more
  50. clearly and lead a healthier, happier life.
